These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of answersheet™ (“answersheet”, “answersheet.in”, “app.answersheet.in”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), including our website, application and related services (the “Services”). answersheet is at present operated by an individual founder based in Surat, Gujarat, India.
By checking the consent box at signup, or by accessing or using the Services in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Eligibility and Accounts for Users Under 18
The Services are designed for students preparing for competitive exams such as JEE Main and JEE Advanced, many of whom are under 18 years of age. By checking the consent box at signup, the person creating the account confirms that they either are 18 years of age or older, or are creating/using the account with the involvement and permission of a parent or lawful guardian who accepts these Terms on the student’s behalf.
We do not independently verify age. Parents/guardians of users under 18 are responsible for supervising the student’s use of the Services and may contact support@answersheet.in at any time regarding the account.
2. Account Registration and Security
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and must verify your email address before accessing practice features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@answersheet.in if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
3. Description of Services
answersheet provides adaptive practice questions, diagnostic tests, mock tests, and question-level mistake analysis (silly mistake, conceptual confusion, or prerequisite gap) intended to help students identify and address learning gaps. Features, exam coverage, and question content may be added, changed, or removed at any time without prior notice.
4. No Guarantee of Results, Rank, or Selection
answersheet is a practice and diagnostic tool. It is not a guarantee of any examination score, percentile, rank, admission, or selection outcome. Your results depend on many factors outside our control, including your own preparation, effort, examination conditions, and changes made by examination authorities. We do not promise, warrant, or represent that using the Services will improve your score or result in any particular outcome, and no statement on our website, application, or by our support team should be interpreted as such a guarantee.
5. Fees, Payments, and No-Refund Policy
Certain features may be offered on a paid subscription basis. Where paid plans are introduced, pricing will be displayed before purchase, and payment will be processed through a third-party payment gateway.
All payments made to answersheet are final and non-refundable once processed, except where required by applicable law. This applies regardless of whether you use the paid features, and regardless of your exam outcome. We currently offer a free trial period before any paid plan begins, which allows you to evaluate the Services before committing to payment; we encourage you to use the free trial fully before purchasing.
Chargebacks or payment disputes raised without first contacting support@answersheet.in may result in immediate suspension of your account pending resolution.
6. Referral Program
Any referral program we operate is governed by its own in-app terms in addition to these Terms. We may withhold, delay, revoke, or claw back referral rewards where we reasonably suspect fraudulent activity, fake accounts, self-referral, or other abuse of the program, and may suspend accounts involved in such activity.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, other users’ accounts, or non-public areas of the Services
- Scrape, copy, reproduce, redistribute, or resell question content, diagnostic data, or any part of the Services without our prior written permission
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or underlying algorithms of the Services
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services, including through automated bots, scripts, or fake accounts
- Misuse the referral program, including by creating fake or duplicate accounts to claim rewards
We may investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including warning, suspending, or terminating accounts, without prior notice in serious cases.
8. Intellectual Property
The answersheet™ name, logo, platform, software, user interface, diagnostic and recommendation algorithms, and all other proprietary technology and content created by us are and remain the exclusive property of answersheet or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of our intellectual property to you. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Services for your personal, non-commercial exam-preparation use only.
9. Intellectual Property & Fair Dealing Disclaimer
answersheet (answersheet™ or answersheet.in, or app.answersheet.in) operates as an interactive assessment interface for student self-study. All third-party public examination materials, questions, and original templates (including those from the NTA and IITs) displayed within our testing interface remain the exclusive intellectual property of their respective official copyright owners. answersheet claims no proprietary ownership over raw public past-year paper data.
Where questions or educational content are sourced from or based on publicly available examination material, such material remains subject to the rights of its respective owners, and answersheet does not claim ownership over content it does not own. Any diagnostic tagging, mistake classification, difficulty metadata, or other analysis we generate around such material is our own work product, distinct from the underlying public examination content itself.
10. Termination and Suspension
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, misused the referral program, engaged in fraudulent or abusive conduct, or for any other reason at our discretion, including discontinuation of the Services altogether. You may stop using the Services and request account deletion at any time by contacting support@answersheet.in. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, and 16 — will continue to apply after termination.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure, or that question content will be free of errors.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, answersheet and its founder shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including loss of exam performance, loss of data, or loss of opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the amount you actually paid us, if any, in the six months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable Indian law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless answersheet, its founder, and any associated personnel from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: your violation of these Terms; your misuse of the Services; your violation of any law or the rights of a third party; or content or information you submit through the Services.
14. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, internet or hosting-provider outages, government action, natural disaster, or widespread technical failures of third-party infrastructure we rely on.
15. Changes to the Services and These Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Services or applicable law. Material changes will be notified through the website or application, along with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith discussion by writing to support@answersheet.in.
If a dispute is not resolved within 30 days of such written notice, it shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration conducted by a sole arbitrator appointed mutually by the parties, in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat and venue of arbitration shall be Surat, Gujarat, India, and the proceedings shall be conducted in English/Hindi. Subject to this arbitration agreement, the courts at Surat, Gujarat shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any matter not subject to, or arising from, arbitration.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court or arbitrator of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of these Terms shall remain in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and answersheet regarding the Services and supersede any prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral, relating to the same subject matter.
